The second call of AT VIRTUAL closed on October, 29th with the submission of a total of 10 applications. The call was addressed to young innovative companies that have technological solutions to the challenges proposed by the Maritime Safety Training Centres in the field of Big data / Data Analytics.
For this second call, three technological challenges were proposed in order to meet the specific needs detected during the diagnosis stage:
- The Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima (Centro Jovellanos) was looking for a Big Data driven solution aiming at allowing users to acquire a real vision of the latent risks in a specific maritime area monitoring all the available data in the same map..
- The Munster Technological University (MTU) was asking for a solution to inspire training candidates to reveal end-user insights by supplementing the existing pen-and-paper handwritten feedback system with a conversational software system.
- The Escola Superior Nautica Infante D. Henrique (ENIDH) proposed a solution to compare whether all the contents defined in the legal documents are introduced or not in the curricular units of the Bachelor and Master degree course in Bridge and Deck Operation.
The SASEMAR/ Centro Jovellanos challenge received 4 proposals, MTU’s challenge 4 and finally ENIDH’s challenge 2. The 10 applications came from the following regions: Asturias, Spain (9) and Pays de la Loire, France (1).
