Laval Mayenne Technopole (LMT) hosted the second meeting of the European AT-VIRTUAL project in Laval, France, on 19 and 20 November 2019 and was attended by partners: CEEI Asturias (Spain), Cork Bic and Cork Institute Of Technology (Ireland), Instituto Pedro Nunes (Portugal), LMT (France), Sociedad de Salvamento y Seguridad Marítima, as well as the Spanish research center Tecnalia. This 2-day meeting was organized by Laval Mayenne Technopole, the French AT-VIRTUAL partner, who is a business and innovation Centre. On the 1st day, not only the partners attended a fruitful project meeting where major actions and issues were discussed, but they have also been able to visit the Laval Virtual Center, Laval flagship and 1st international hub dedicated to AR and VR and to meet research labs and companies. Amongst them, they had a thorough visit and presentation of CLARTE, a technological resources center specialized in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and emerging technologies ; the INSTITUT LAVAL ARTS ET METIERS , a VR and AR research lab offering a Master Degree in VR and AR at the same time. Two people from Laval Virtual , the 1st Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality exhibition in Europe explained to the partners the vary diverse activities of their organization towards the diffusion of AR and VR technologies in all sectors. Finally, two young companies from Laval showcased their products : MIRAGE HOLOGRAMS , specialized in holographic and interactive display solutions for optimizing the commercial performance of sales locations and IMAGIN-VR  , which designs, manufactures and commercialize immersive, interactive and collaborative solutions of "turnkey" Virtual Reality . All these visits and meetings allowed the project partners to understand better what VR/AR and visualization technologies could bring to the project, thanks to the many use cases presented. After this very long but very rewarding working day, the project partners moved to a lovely place outside Laval called La Maison Marsollier for a well-deserved surprising dinner .  Indeed, Laval Mayenne Technopole being also a project partner in another Interreg project called Food Heroes (*) where a specific action has been developed to valorize billy-goat meat, the people attending the Laval meeting where offered a very special and tasty dinner where the main dish was made of several compositions based on billy goat meat. This dinner was very much enjoyed and was a good occasion to match 2 projects together. If you are interested to discover more about VR , AR and emerging technologies, Laval Mayenne Technopole will be happy to welcome you during the 2020 Laval Virtual event, which is going to take place from April 22 to 24. https://www.laval-virtual.com/ (*) The Food Heroes Interreg NEW projects aims to reduce food losses in the primary sectors (on farm and fisheries) by creating higher value uses for byproducts and products that are out of specification.
